Can anybody tell me the nature of the 292-8A. Is it related to the 290 in any way?

The 292-8A was made as a driver for Musicians PA systems. I was essentially a 290E motor with an 8 ohm diaphragm. The long back cover of the 290 was replaced by a short cover that will not fit anything other than a 290 or 292. Treat the driver like a 290, it's a great midrange driver, and no you can't convert it into a 288 or 299. JIM

    Thanks; very helpful.

I assume the shorter cover was because the envisioned applications did not need the 70V transformer.
